Job Title: Process & Technology Engineer (w/m/d)

Location: Unterschleißheim (Munich Region), Germany

Position Description: We are looking for a Process & Technology Engineer (w/m/d) to join our Munich team. This position reports to the Team Lead BTC (Battery Technology Center) and is supporting the European BTC Team, working on documentation for decision making, Information management, Technology approval & handover etc. Focus on Battery Housings for EV´s and PHEV´s, Crash Management Systems (CMS), Body Structural Parts etc.

In this role, you are expected to be responsible for:

• Conduct feasibility checks during the pre-development, RFI/RFQ, and development phases.
• Ensure designers are aware of manufacturing processes and specific customer requirements.
• Support Engineering Team in defining optimal designs, balancing cost efficiency and quality requirements.
• Work together with Minth China team & Plants in the quotation phase, including tasks such as defining processes, developing technical concepts, and reviewing them with the Engineering Team and the customer.
• Find best process technology with the technical lead engineer in the development phase. This includes holding weekly technical meetings with the customer and managing technical change processes.
• Work together with Minth China BTC team on innovation projects.
• Identify new technology resources in Europe to enhance our R&D capabilities
• Recommend standard components and initiate/request Master Drawings.
• Set-up and coordinate D-FMEA (Design-Failure-Method-Effect-Analysis) and P-FMEA (Process-Failure-Method-Effect-Analysis) for getting robust products and processes acc. to VDA standards.
• Organize and lead regular Lessons Learned sessions and Best Practice workshops, which allow the Standardization of our innovative products and their related processes in the plants and Engineering Team.
• Facilitate process improvement workshops at plant sites to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Prepare and coordinate customer audits regarding our Designs, Processes & Technologies.
  Support the Program Team on engineering change requests related to feasibility, costs and investment.
• Willingness for business trips to plants mainly in EU & occasionally in China.
• Research emerging market trends and conduct benchmarking in process technologies; propose innovative solutions to the BTC team.

Following qualifications and abilities are expected for this role:

Background:

• Engineering education (e.g. mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, automotive engineering or similar) or comparable degree
• Background of aluminum manufacturing and welding application 3-5 year experience in extrusion, casting, welding or forming

Ability:

• Good technical knowledge of Steel, Alu and composites component process technologies
• Experience in process technologies like welding, casting, Alu extrusion, deep draw, machining
• Experience on process layout definitions (MIFD, process layouts, Cycle time calculation)
• Experience on FMEA process according VDA
• Process-oriented thinking as well as an independent, structured and proactive working method and Self-management
• Experience with project work and presentation skills
• Good experience with MS Office, MS Project, FMEA and CA
• Willingness to necessary business trips
• International Mindset
• German and English language skills are necessary; Chinese language or further others will be a plus
