We are currently looking for a Lead Engineer Battery Pack and for Chassis and Structural Applications (f/m/d) with the following responsibilities:

  • To run CMS (Crash-Management-Structures & Battery Housing (structure) developments and to cooperate with colleagues from Process & Technology team on all Aluminum joining and assembly related tasks
  • To support our production plants in introduction of CMS-systems, with other structural assemblies from industrialization phase to their running process
  • To assist Business Unit and technical marketing teams in their promotion and acquisition of innovative products for European clients
  • To set up and coordinate D-FMEA (Design-Failure-Method-Effect-Analysis) and joining processes, especially for aluminum welding. In single cases, also to run together with customers S-FMEA (System-Failure-Method-Effect-Analysis) to make products/modules better integrated in customer system
  • To establish regular lessons learned sessions and workshops for best practice on CMS-systems, body-structure assemblies and on battery housings, which allow the standardization of our systems and their production processes
  • To search, select and validate further established external CMS-, Chassis-, aluminum body structure and battery housing engineering suppliers, coordinating projects with them, in case when in-house capacity is not sufficient
  • To make Master Drawings for CMS-, Chassis-, aluminum Body structures and battery housings
  • To make design- and process- checklists for CMS- and Aluminum Body Structure parts and battery housings, which can be used in Engineering and Process & Technology team
  • To arrange research projects with universities or other institutes for steady improvement of our technologies
  • To run cost reduction tasks for according structure parts
  • Supporting the R&D team with technical reviews for clients

Following qualifications and abilities are expected for this position:

  • Master or Bachelor in mechanical engineering with good knowledge on EV-package from front to rear in lower body and door area
  • Very good knowledge of vehicle package
  • Experience in the field of major welding technologies (MIG, CMT, laser welding, hybrid laser welding), Aluminum alloys (5XXX, 6XXX), production and testing in R&D and product development is desirable.
  • Professional fluency in German and English are necessary, knowledge of further foreign languages such as Chinese, Czech or Serbian are advantageous
  • At least 3 years of experience in CMS-development, Chassis, Aluminum Body Structures and Battery Housings
  • Familiar with the development flow of European OEMs, and can operate 3D design software such as UG (NX) or CATIA
  • Good communication and coordination skills to establish good technical cooperation relationships with clients
  • Good at understanding the complaints and concerns of client and take actions to solve problems
